My Photography
Hello Everyone,
I have been honing my processing this last few months and learning a lot to make my pictures the best they can be and the reproduction of the time the exposures were taken.
Most of the pictures on my website have been reprocessed for more detail and realistic quality.
I was horrible with processing my files and didn't understand fully what can be done to achieve
the highest quality, processing and finishing the files.
I know now and have Incorporated that as I process several months of shots I've taken this last 9 months.
Many of my photographs lacked real life quality on the posted images that they could have been. It's not an earth shattering difference but there is a very nice difference of realism. The new processes are pretty damn realistic as they were when I originally shot them.
I will be back posting in the very near future on Facebook again with new work I've been shooting over the last few months. It's not a bunch of work but some nice work to share with you all.
I had to take a break from Facebook because my full time construction job and other obligations that took every minute out of every day. It sucks but soon I'll be back shooting full time again again and out to some new amazing places. Cross fingers that I can bring you all more beautiful images from the desert southwest and beyond soon!
I couldn't just keep posting the reruns.... I'm sorry 😔
Thank you all for your support over the years and hope there will be even better years coming up.
I'm POSITIVE of that and stayed tuned....
Thanks again everyone!
LOVE YOU ALL!
Welcome to my web page of photography.
This continually evolving art museum of my photography has taken many years to acquire from shooting all over the Desert Southwest.
In this time, I put over 300,00 miles on my old Tacoma in thirteen years and hundreds of miles, going through crazy weather, lightning, hail, rain, blizzards, I've endured so much over 40 years chasing storms, finding these places and composing, capturing the beauty out in the wilderness., It's my love, passion, and I've only just begun and I'm out there capturing the beautiful desert southwest every chance I get.
There so much more to see and capture.
Thank you all!
I am available for assignment work, special location shooting and publication assignments.
I will capture any location in the Western US in style, beauty and the best light for the subjects.
I think I have the critical eye to capture the best compositions at any location.
Give me a call. I'll rock the house...
I have None, Zero AI photography on this website. All of the work here has been shot by myself on location and presented to you as accurately and as real as I encountered the subjects out in the wilderness with my style of photography.
My Milky Way Earth images are shot in two exposures.
I don't like the 30 second high ISO images because the stars are not truly points of light. They become unattractive blobs that ruin the image.
I take 15 minute exposures with a tracking mount that gives a beautiful view of what's really up in the night sky.
It's similar as the Jack Webb space telescope.
I blend the two exposures from right after sunset then the night image of the Milky Way.
You can take my shots and hold it up to the real scene and they are one in the same.
The only difference is that my composition has more detail because of the long exposures.
And my stars are pinpoints of light the way they are in the sky.
So the "Photoshop" is only to blend the two together to make the scene that is there in real life. Period.
There are some lame photographers here in New Mexico are too lazy to get out and shoot.
It's not just a casual day or two out there. It's being Committed to shooting out in the weather, getting soaking wet and having lightning strike very close to you to get the shot. My shots of the lightning at White Pocket was incredible. The bolts had stuck less the 500 feet from me twice and the ones I have posted were less than a quarter mile to about a mile away. Shooting at 12mm and 14mm focal lengths made them appear farther away but make no mistake about I could feel the electricity for a few minutes.
It's a bit unnerving but I love the adrenaline rush and capturing the raw power of Mother Nature.
If I die shooting lightning it'll be fine because I'm doing what I love, love the power of Mother Nature and feeling the energy. It fuels my fire.
I'll be back out this summer shooting more storms as ever.
It's a addiction that needs quenching.
I'll be out there very soon bringing you all more of the best of the desert southwest.

I was horrible with processing my files and didn't understand the COMPLETE steps in processing and finishing the files. I know now and Incorporated g that as I process several months of shots I've taken this last 9 months.
I found myself not really getting the mood, brightness, darkness were not always totally accurate especially the darker, moody compositions that I had captured.
I've learned a lot and still learning but I think images now are as real as the moment I shot them and getting my processing the best I can get.
It's been a labor of love a quite the learning experience with digital.
I spent 30+ years on film photography and the transition wasn't as smooth as I thought.
Thank you all!
These are my favorite pictures so far through this journey of sight, mind and capturing these beautiful places in the desert southwest. Please enjoy.
Custom MATTING
Hello Everyone,
I mat my prints with a color that is predominant in the image that is to be matted. If there is a lot of light brown then I'll matt it in shades of tan/brown that best fits the image.
If YOU would like a custom color for your home, PLEASE give me the matt color or color number and manufacturer that you want your print matted in.
I'll make it a custom fit for your home or office.
Just let me know when you order and I'll make it happen.
Black and White prints typically matt in either black, white, Black core color matting. Please specify which matting you need for your prints.
11x14 matted prints cover just the edges of the print area and go up to 18x24" I can custom mat any size to make a reveal mat that shows all of the images and also the mounting board. They look really nice. A typical reveal is a half inch on three sides and 7/8" reveal on the signature reveal.
Prints over 16x20 size are reveal matted with a 1/2" reveal on the matting where the print is signed and numbered. Pictures 1-3 show matting on toned prints and black and white images.
Image 4 shows a larger matted print with the black Nelson frames. I use only the best mat board and frames available.
Small prints are matted in Gray, White and Sable (brown) as per customer request at time of ordering.
Please let me know when you order what color matting you want on your prints.
The last image show a couple of Canvas wraps ready to hang.
All are beautiful works for your home or office.
I only use the best Canon Archival Ink on my wide format Canon printers.
I print on only the best printer paper, canvas available through Hahnemuhle, Ilford and Canon.
ALL of my images are only offered in Limited Editions of 100 per image per matted or framed size.
So there are only 100 - 11x14 matted prints per each image available. There are only 100 - 16x20 matted prints available on each image and the same as 18x24, 24x30 and canvases, metal prints are all only editions of 100. It's a very small distribution.
There are many images getting close to selling out in 11x14 size and a few Images have sold out.
I , myself sign and number every print I make. I print, mat and frame ALL of my work. I don't have some shop or lab do it for me. The end product is a 100% archival product made by me the artist. Always.
Most photographers have a lab do it because they lack the value of a true piece of artwork from the artist themselves.
I pride my work and the product I give to you....
Thanks so much everyone!
