Stepping Back in Time
The beautiful rock formations out at White Pocket and the Summer monsoon.
This very large catch or "pocket" had a nice view on a late afternoon just before sunset.
I had parked here for a few shots as the sun went down and to catch some different light as it progressed..I shot this composition several times as the light changed. It's pretty amazing how things change so quickly with light, clouds.
Imagine, this has been happening here and all these other amazing places in the Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness.
This shot was a few min before sunset and the clouds were a cold blue. I was lucky the air was almost still. Just enough to give a decent refly of the clouds and rock formations.
These moments were amazing and I don't say that lightly. These Pocket aren't always this full of water and often they are dry.
In any event this shot is the whole experience, the moment of time captured that will never happen again.
The title is in reference that these formations were dunes 180 million some odd years and this is what Mother Earth made them into. Our Earth Art from 180 million years of erosion, deformation, you name it but the outcome we see now is amazing!
Thanks everyone!
