Wild Horse Nights
Nights out in the red rock country east of Gallup you find these amazing creatures and for an apple or two they pose very nicely.
This is looking at the seldom photographed Northern Milky Way.
This is a two shot blend as if I could shoot the horses and the stars at the same time without some lighting setup, etc... in the middle of the night with the rather long 15 minute exposure.
The pose of the horses and the rock formations the stars are very close to where everything is in real life if you could be out there to see the stars. I usually shoot the scene all together with the land and stars shots only an hour or so after the initial landscape exposure.
So If you go to a location of one of my pictures you will see exactly what the picture shows with the exception of there will be no real color in the sky other than the brighter stars. These shots show what you eye sees and the colors that takes a few seconds of exposure to see.
Owls can probably see some colors in the Milky Way but limited as well.
